Accessibility statement
IrooniMap should work for everyone, in Persian and in English. This page says what we aim for, what still falls short, and how to reach us when something gets in your way.

Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA on the whole site: public pages, accounts, the business dashboard, and the widgets businesses put on their own websites.
We operate from Ontario and follow the spirit of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA): accessible information, a clear way to give feedback, and other formats on request.
What we built in
- Every page works with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to content” link is the first thing you reach, and focus is always visible.
- Menus, dialogs and search suggestions can be opened, used and closed with the keyboard; Esc closes them and returns you to where you were.
- Text and controls meet AA contrast in both the light and dark themes.
- Pages set their language and direction (Persian right to left, English left to right), including English names inside Persian text.
- Open or closed status is written out in words, never shown by colour alone.
- The map always has a list view with the same places.
- Charts in dashboards come with a short text summary.
- Pages stay usable at 200% zoom, and animation is reduced when your device asks for it.
- Form errors are announced and tied to their field.
Known limitations
- Map images. The map tiles come from a third party (OpenFreeMap) and street names on them can't be read by a screen reader. The list view next to the map has the same information.
- Photos added by businesses. We describe each photo with the business name and category; some photos don't yet have a more detailed description.
- Content from businesses. Descriptions, menus and files that owners upload may not always follow these guidelines. Tell us and we'll ask the owner or fix it.
- Widgets on other websites. Our widgets are built to these rules, but the site that hosts them may not be.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on IrooniMap is hard to use, or you need information in another format (for example plain text or a larger print version), email [email protected] with “Accessibility” in the subject, or use the contact form.
Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and, if you like, the device and assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 business days, and we never ask you to explain a disability.
How we check
Every page is checked automatically with axe in both languages, both themes, and at phone and desktop widths, and any serious problem fails our test suite. We also check new features with the keyboard before they ship.
Something not working for you?
Write to us. A short note with the page address is enough.
