IrooniMap is a free, bilingual map of Iranian businesses. We started in Toronto and have mapped 3,202 businesses across 12 cities so far.
It started with one question
Anyone who has moved abroad has asked it or heard it: “Do you know a good Iranian dentist?” The answer usually gets lost in a Telegram group, or turns out to be an old number nobody picks up.
We built IrooniMap so that answer has a permanent home: Persian and English names, phone, address, hours and a way to get in touch. Search works in Persian, English and even Finglish; type “ghanadi” and you'll get bakeries.
Independent and neutral
We aren't affiliated with any political or religious group and take money from none of them.
Regular search ranking can't be bought. Results depend on relevance, completeness and how up to date the information is.
Every paid placement is always labelled “Featured” or “Sponsored”.
No reviews or star ratings, on purpose. This is a place for information, not rating wars.
Where does this information come from?
We compiled the first listings from public directories and information businesses have published themselves, such as their websites and Instagram pages.
Each page's description is written from those facts, not copied from other sites. Emails that only appeared in directories are never shown, and an owner's name appears only if they published it themselves.
If something is wrong, the owner can claim the page and fix it. If a page shouldn't be here, send a removal or correction request.
Why the street sign?
IrooniMap's design comes from the blue street signs of Tehran: blue enamel, a white rim and a rivet in each corner. For many of us those signs mean an address, and the neighbourhood we came from.
In our logo, the third dot of «پ» is a map pin. The old orange plate is reserved for businesses that have been in town for many years.
